Locally Owned Flooring Store in Ponderay, ID

Sandpoint Furniture Carpet One Floor & Home was originally established in 1945 at 205 Cedar Street in downtown Sandpoint, Idaho. In 1984, Mike Gunter, Dwight Sheffler, and Dale Jeffres, all third-generation Sandpoint residents, purchased Sandpoint Furniture from Bob Farmin, Chuck Bonar, and Bob Nelson.

During the next ten years in their downtown location, Sandpoint Furniture experienced both success and growing pains. After much deliberation, they moved the store just minutes north to Ponderay, Idaho. They have been growing ever since. In 1995, they joined the Carpet One Flooring cooperative and became known as Sandpoint Furniture Carpet One. Since then, they have added Selkirk Glass and Cabinets and the Sandpoint Furniture Clearance Center to their line of offerings.

In 2007, the second generation of Gunters, Shefflers, and Jeffres jumped into the ownership of Sandpoint Furniture. Clint Gunter, Ross Granier, Carmin Sheffler, Nathan Jeffres, and John Darling have accepted the challenge of bringing their customers great products with the outstanding knowledge and customer service that Sandpoint Furniture’s customers have come to expect from our store. They are excited to be able to offer the most extensive lines of home flooring and furnishings in the Northwest.
